Training is held each Wednesday at Walker Road Sporting Precinct, Edmonton.
Training sessions focus on developing skills, building confidence and preparing players for game day in a supportive team environment.

Cairns Dodgers games are played at Trinity Beach Sporting Precinct. Junior games are generally played on Saturdays, while senior games may be scheduled across Friday, Saturday and Sunday, depending on the competition draw.
Please arrive at the fields at least 30 minutes before your scheduled game start time to allow time for team warm-up and game preparation.
All players must wear the full Cairns Dodgers playing uniform

White or grey baseball pants, blue belts, shoes/cleats and protective boxes can be purchased from our sponsor, INTERSPORT Cairns.
Cairns Dodgers jerseys and caps are supplied separately through the club.
If you are unable to attend a game, please advise your team coach no later than 1 hour before the scheduled game start time.
Giving your coach as much notice as possible helps the team plan player positions and game-day arrangements.
GameChanger is the main communication and scheduling platform used by Cairns Dodgers throughout the season.
Before heading to the fields, check GameChanger for your game time, field allocation and any schedule, weather or cancellation updates.
Players and families can also use GameChanger to confirm player availability and receive team updates throughout the season.
Once teams are finalised, players and parents will receive an invitation to join their team in GameChanger. Follow the steps below to create your account, download the app and join your team.

I’ve been involved in baseball in Cairns for the past five years, starting out by assisting with junior teams in 2020 while my children were playing. In 2022, I stepped into the role of Junior Coach and have since also become involved as a committee member and Club Secretary, while continuing to play in the senior competition.
I love the game and the challenges it brings, both as a player and a coach. What started as a way to spend more time with my children quickly grew into a passion for helping develop the club and supporting the next generation of players. Being part of a group of people who share the same love for the game is what keeps me coming back each season.
One of the most rewarding parts of coaching is watching young players grow in confidence and begin to apply the skills we’ve worked on at training during games. For me, it’s all about creating a positive environment where kids feel supported, enjoy themselves, and learn to keep moving forward—especially after making mistakes.
My coaching style is laid back and focused on building strong fundamentals without overwhelming younger players. I believe confidence comes first—once that’s in place, the skills will follow. It’s important that players learn, improve, and most importantly, have fun along the way.

One of my favourite baseball memories is watching my oldest son hit a triple in his first tournament—the excitement and pride he felt reaching third base is something I’ll never forget.
