Cairns Dodgers Baseball Club is a proud, family-focused club where players of all ages and skill levels come together to enjoy the game and be part of a supportive community. We place a strong emphasis on participation, development, and creating a positive environment where players can build confidence, learn new skills, and form lasting friendships.
Our club thrives on involvement at all levels, with senior players actively supporting coaching and development pathways for juniors. Training takes place at Walker Road Sporting Precinct in Edmonton, with all games played at Trinity Beach Sporting Precinct.

Junior Coach & Club Secretary
I’ve been involved in baseball in Cairns for the past five years, starting out by assisting with junior teams in 2020 while my children were playing. In 2022, I stepped into the role of Junior Coach and have since also become involved as a committee member and Club Secretary, while continuing to play in the senior competition.
I love the game and the challenges it brings, both as a player and a coach. What started as a way to spend more time with my children quickly grew into a passion for helping develop the club and supporting the next generation of players. Being part of a group of people who share the same love for the game is what keeps me coming back each season.
One of the most rewarding parts of coaching is watching young players grow in confidence and begin to apply the skills we’ve worked on at training during games. For me, it’s all about creating a positive environment where kids feel supported, enjoy themselves, and learn to keep moving forward—especially after making mistakes.
My coaching style is laid back and focused on building strong fundamentals without overwhelming younger players. I believe confidence comes first—once that’s in place, the skills will follow. It’s important that players learn, improve, and most importantly, have fun along the way.
If you’re thinking about joining, come down and have a go. We have teams for all ages and skill levels, and there’s a place here for everyone.
One of my favourite baseball memories is watching my oldest son hit a triple in his first tournament—the excitement and pride he felt reaching third base is something I’ll never forget.
